WHEN YOU LOCK YOUR LOAN

When your file is received in underwriting, we start notifying you of rate changes, as often as they occur, until you lock-in your rate.
Rate updates are computer generated. They are sent directly to your email address. Your loan must be locked no later than 10 Business Days prior to your anticipated closing date.
In today's uncertain financial climate, it may be almost any statistical change that may cause rate movement. As you watch rates, you cannot be certain of what will occur tomorrow. In addition to the volatility of interest rates, guidelines are becoming more volatile. What you qualified for today, you may not qualify for tomorrow.

The day you lock, is the day of commitment for the lender and you. The lender has to honor your locked rate under current guidelines, even if rates go higher, or guidelines change. You have committed to honor your locked rate, even if rates go lower. It's usually the hardest decision you'll have to make during the loan process.
